Happy New Year. Let's end it with a bang. Enjoy.

The Godfather

We'd like to pay respects to George Greenough, the godfather of modern surfing and a surfing revolutionary in the 1960's. With the long, peeling right-handed point break at Rincon, Greenough had the perfect playground to experiment with his kneeboard, named Velo, carving tighter turns and covering more face on the wave than anyone else at the time. His radical surfing style, combined with his intuitive design of the flex fin (based off of the fins on a blue fin tuna) pushed the limits of surfing in the late 60's and helped bring about the Shortboard Revolution. Greenough was also a pioneer in surf cinema and photography, mounting his 35mm camera to the front of his board and shooting perspective footage of surfing, capturing the first in-the-barrel footage - 40 years before GoPro was even a brain child.

Penny for Your Thoughts

These things have been flying out of the shop and they're insanely fun. Hailing from Australia, Penny Skateboards, the original plastic skateboard, are 23" by 6" and come standard with 4" trucks and Penny's 87A super soft wheels. We've only got these two left, so come and nab yours before they're gone. You can rip these things too, here's our friend and local skater Ian Sadler proving that with his video part in the Penny Best Film Cash Grab video contest. Go to http://skateboard.tv/video/10874 and vote for him!

Single Mindedness

We've got a gem of a small wave board here and it's for sale. 5'10" x 20" x 2 1/2" with a 7" slide box. Thicker foil, round tail, this thing is insanely fun in small surf. We'd suggest throwing an 8" Greenough 4A in this puppy. $350 in store or online.

Twice as Nice

6'4" high performance twin fin for Ryan Walker over on the North Shore. Pulled template, winged swallow tail, and hook rails for hold. We're gonna toy around with these ourselves, they look insane. Stay tuned for more photos...

12 December 2011

We cruised up to the RVCA HQ to check out Jack Coleman's new surf flick Polyester featuring Alex Knost. Needless to say Jack did an incredible job and Al killed it in usual fashion. Props to you guys for another killer showing. If you've never heard of Jack Coleman, he's a killer photographer from Costa Mesa who's been moving up and up, odds are you seen one of his countless photo shoots for BLISSS, Gantez Warrior, or the Growlers. Here's the Polyester trailer in case you missed it.

Welcome to the Infintree Matt Suckel

Welcome to the Team Matt Suckel! Matt's a local revolutionist in the post modern longboard movement and kills it to say the least. Whether its stayin' perched down the line at Boneyards or layin' up a hang heels iron cross at Church, look out for Matt as he flies past you.

10'0" Classic

We just got in another beauty, a 10'0" Classic model shaped by Steve Boehne himself. 50/50 rails, T-banded stringer; 1/4" cedar sandwiched between two 3/4" balsa stringers, volan glass with a fin patch, this board is truly a classic, and only available at Infinity.

Babe Wednesday

Black and lacy and just a bit racy. Enjoy.

Aye, Aye, Captain!

We just got our new run of Captain Fins in and we're diggin 'em. These guys always put out the coolest shit on fins and with riders like JJ Wessels, the Brothers Marshall, and Scotty Stopnik designing the templates, you know they're good. We're especially lovin' the new Brothers Marshall patriotic pivot fin, with the "One God, One Country, One Fin" mantra on one side, and with "THESE COLORS DON'T RUN ON 9/11" on the other. God Bless America. Enjoy.

Makala Smith Welcome to the Team

Welcome to the Infintree Makala Smith. Makala shreds, she cruised into the shop and borrowed Stevie Danger's pink Stylemaster to give it a try. Turns out she won both of her next contests on it. So we worked out a new Stylemaster with her and welcome another shredder into the Infintree.

North Shore

With it being primal season on the North Shore and all, we'd figure we'd share with you a little North Shore winter from seasons past, circa 1977. Enjoy.

25 November 2011

8'10" Cooperfish Hornet

We just got in a used 8'10" Cooperfish Hornet, and I use the word "used" lightly. This thing has barely been ridden, no pressure dings, no dings, it's immaculate. Beautiful mexican horse blanket style glass job on the bottom with 3" laps and a clean black pinline to finish it off. 1" balsa stringer, 10" glassed on fin, and pinched 50/50 rails. And all at $750, that's dirt cheap for a practically new Cooperfish. They don't even make this Hornet model anymore, and when they did they retailed at $1300 minimum. Come in and check her out, needless to say this gem isn't going to last long...

Look for the golden seal of approval when contemplating your new shred sled.

Less is More

We've harped on this countless times before, but mini-simmons are the way to go a thousand times over. These things are so fun its ridiculous, it doesn't matter what kind of wave, what kind of conditions, these things just make an average day of surfing so much better. Here's our boy Chaka clearly loving his Tombstone. Enjoy.

Finless Squid Monster

For those of you finless freaks out there, here's a little "making of" movie of our old squid tail pirate plank. Thing's so rad!

Windows Vista: Surf and Destroy Edition

We're frothing on how the new window displays came out, "SURF AND DESTORY" and the BoehneBros anchor on one side, and the new Infinity Gold Label to compliment it. Enjoy.

Just another day at the office

The Budrows

Listen up cause we're slingin' some real blues your way. We're talking real blues here. This local three piece band from Aliso Viejo consists of Macarena Rivera's vocals, Jason Farthing on his very own self-built cigar box guitars, and Jesse Boden layin' down some real "growly harmonica licks". These guys have just been getting better and better, and they're certainly someone you'll have to see live. And not a second too soon, they'll be playing at Macalistaire in Laguna Beach (Just south of Mozambique) tomorrow, November 15, at 6:30. Enjoy.

Pete Casica's Stick for Sale

Pete Casica dropped off his 9'8" log for the first person to come and nab this beauty. One of only 2 Boehne Bros. longboards out there, this board's definitely one of a kind, complete with custom resin line put on by Pete himself, with his signature Felix the Cat icon. Flat rocker, 50/50 softened rails, 22 1/2" wide, and 3 1/2" thick. Throw a nice rakey pivot fin in and trim for daaayyyzzzzz. Only ridden a handful of times (no pressure dings!), at $450, you can't even pick up a shortboard that cheap. Cruise in and check her out. Enjoy.

Stevie Danger Likes To Get Weird

Here's our boy Chaka, sliding on a few in absolute style. Notice the grace and poise in his surfing. What you can barely see in the first picture is he buckled and broke the first two feet of his nose. Look carefully, that nose is bent in two! I'd like to see anyone else have such control of two halves of a surfboard noseriding through the pocket. Enjoy.
