The Godfather
We'd like to pay respects to George Greenough, the godfather of modern surfing and a surfing revolutionary in the 1960's. With the long, peeling right-handed point break at Rincon, Greenough had the perfect playground to experiment with his kneeboard, named Velo, carving tighter turns and covering more face on the wave than anyone else at the time. His radical surfing style, combined with his intuitive design of the flex fin (based off of the fins on a blue fin tuna) pushed the limits of surfing in the late 60's and helped bring about the Shortboard Revolution. Greenough was also a pioneer in surf cinema and photography, mounting his 35mm camera to the front of his board and shooting perspective footage of surfing, capturing the first in-the-barrel footage - 40 years before GoPro was even a brain child.

Penny for Your Thoughts
These things have been flying out of the shop and they're insanely fun. Hailing from Australia, Penny Skateboards, the original plastic skateboard, are 23" by 6" and come standard with 4" trucks and Penny's 87A super soft wheels. We've only got these two left, so come and nab yours before they're gone. You can rip these things too, here's our friend and local skater Ian Sadler proving that with his video part in the Penny Best Film Cash Grab video contest. Go to http://skateboard.tv/video/10874 and vote for him!
Enjoy.
Single Mindedness
We've got a gem of a small wave board here and it's for sale. 5'10" x 20" x 2 1/2" with a 7" slide box. Thicker foil, round tail, this thing is insanely fun in small surf. We'd suggest throwing an 8" Greenough 4A in this puppy. $350 in store or online.

Polyester
We cruised up to the RVCA HQ to check out Jack Coleman's new surf flick Polyester featuring Alex Knost. Needless to say Jack did an incredible job and Al killed it in usual fashion. Props to you guys for another killer showing. If you've never heard of Jack Coleman, he's a killer photographer from Costa Mesa who's been moving up and up, odds are you seen one of his countless photo shoots for BLISSS, Gantez Warrior, or the Growlers. Here's the Polyester trailer in case you missed it.

Aye, Aye, Captain!
We just got our new run of Captain Fins in and we're diggin 'em. These guys always put out the coolest shit on fins and with riders like JJ Wessels, the Brothers Marshall, and Scotty Stopnik designing the templates, you know they're good. We're especially lovin' the new Brothers Marshall patriotic pivot fin, with the "One God, One Country, One Fin" mantra on one side, and with "THESE COLORS DON'T RUN ON 9/11" on the other. God Bless America. Enjoy.
